In an era dominated by social media and digital communication, Susan believes in the enduring power of face-to-face interactions. “When we talk to people face to face, they’re going to get bought into us as people, not necessarily the product or service we’re offering at that time. So if you can find some way somehow to relate to the person that’s in front of you, you know you got them,” she says. “You don’t have to be the most bubbly or outgoing or extroverted person in the room”.

This personal connection is what sets direct sales apart from other industries. “When people are put face-to-face, there’s no barrier. There’s no wall anymore.”

Susan’s journey in direct sales began as an entry-level sales and marketing associate, where she earned between $2000 to $2500 weekly. While her friends were enjoying their early 20s at bars and clubs, Susan was focused on building her future. 

“I had to look five, ten years down the line,” she says. “I surrounded myself with people who shared that same vision, and it made all the difference.”
